Tipping

In recognition of the good service, tipping the tour guides and drivers, as well as bellboys and porters in the hotels and airports has become gradually accepted as common practice in China. We suggest you also tip those who have been especially kind and done extra service for you. What or when you choose to tip depends entirely on how you rate a service. For bellboys, 5-10 RMB or 1-2 US dollars per piece of luggage (depending how many pieces you have) may be appropriated. For the tour guides, 18-100 RMB or 3-16 US dollars per passenger per day (depending how many people in your group) is adequate.
